The new version of the popular Raspberry Pi version 3 minicomputer. This model distinguishes the more efficient Broadcom BCM2837 quad-core processor 64-bit ARM-8 Cortex-A53 1.2 GHz. In addition, the board has 1 GB of RAM, built-in WiFi and Bluetooth 4.1 module and four USB ports, 40 GPIO, microSD card connectors, Ethernet port and four mounting holes.
The periphery system has remained unchanged, enclosure for version 2 will be compatible. However, the position of the LEDs has been changed, which is why in some cases they may be invisible.
Image and sound
Raspberry Pi has HDMI version 1.4 , through which you can transfer both image and sound. In addition, the board has been equipped with a 4-way 3.5mm jack socket, to which you can connect headphones, speakers or output video via the RCA Composite standard.
Raspberry has basic communication interfaces that can be found in PC class office computers. In addition to the aforementioned audio and video connectors, you have at your disposal:
four USB connectors , for which you can connect eg. mouse, keyboard, WiFi card or pendrive. If it turns out that the sockets are not enough, you can increase their number using an external USB HUB .
Ethernet socket , i.e. the possibility of direct connection to the LAN
WiFi module - allows communication with 802.11 bgn wireless network
Bluetooth 4.1 module - enables data transfer via a popular interface
GPIO - general purpose outlets / entries that can be used to operate LEDs, buttons, motor controllers. Among them there are pins that support interfaces: I2C, SPI and UART. From version B + the number of GPIO has been increased from 26 to 40.
As a power source, the system uses a microUSB connector. The manufacturer recommends that the voltage given at the connector should be 5.1V, while the current capacity of the used power supply should be at least 2.5 A.
